Due to Covid-19 we are currently not open to visitors and cannot train any new people to help us. We are hoping as the year goes on this will change.
We are still open to hedgehogs in need and operate a no contact drop off for everyone's safety.
Please stay safe.
If you wish to donate something more, our wish-list is full of a varied range of supplies we go through whilst caring for our little spiky friends daily. Click the button below to go straight to our wish-list!
Wirral hedgehog hospital is based in Neston, Wirral and takes care of injured, poorly and abandoned hedgehogs. We have the facilities and knowledge to provide first aid, medication and rehabilitation of hedgehogs in need. We work closely with a number of vets to ensure as many hedgehogs as possible are returned to full health and released back into the wild.
Our main aim is the successful release of these beautiful animals back into the wild where they belong! Last year (2019) we admitted 647 hedgehogs of which 456 were released back into wild. We still have some of the others with us and they will be going to be released in the spring this year.
We have a purpose built facility to offer the hedgehog’s that come into our care the very best chance of survival. Mandi (the founder of this rescue) has completed a hedgehog first aid course with Vale Wildlife Hospital in Gloucester and volunteered alongside The Wirral Hedgehog Rescue while it was open for over 3 years. We have plenty of expertise in the care and rehabilitation of our native hedgehog.
Your support and contributions will enable us to help these animals. Your generous donation will fund our mission. Any donations will be put towards vet bills, medication charges and other running costs.
